Coffee with Purpose

Scott James's great-grandfather, Ben Addis, dedicated his entire working life to the collieries surrounding Ammanford, starting from the tender age of 14. A golden era in their history, a time when hard work and dedication were highly valued. It serves as a reminder of the resilience and industrious spirit that defined that period, something that holds the promise of making a return in the future. Nothing ventured, nothing gained.

Coaltown's home is in Ammanford in south west Wales, a post industrial community where Anthracite coal (Black Gold) fueled the local economy. Back in 2003 the last of the collieries closed and with it went the town’s purpose. Coaltown’s ambition was to bring a new industry to their home, a new Black Gold, a new purpose. In 2018 they achieved just that and our town is producing again.

This time it’s a new Black Gold—Coffee.
